Break out the candles Dudes and Dudettes it's Jim Dillard's Birthday AKA RedneckDude! An awsome skinner here and best Dude friend! Let's all join in wishing him the best. Now let's get on with the Roast!
Bet in the winter time those outhouses were a thing to be avoided. I'm glad they invented indoor plumbing when I came around.
Well at least it didn't smell as bad in the winter as it did in the summer...so I'm told.
Aw I dunno, they'd get quite 'ripe' during summer here in Oz.... back in the day. I think all Aussie councils have mainline sewerage these days, but not so in the early 70's. My sister moved into a new estate that wasn't connected for the first couple of months, so she had the dreaded thunderbox out the back 'til the sewerage was hooked up.
Fortunately I never had the dreaded thunderbox at any of my abodes, the bloody awful things they were.
So you're told? You wouldn't be that far from RND's place, would ya?
Then there was the guy who wanted to keep the stench down with a candle ... Ol' Toastie I think was his name.
This thread is beginning to stink.......

Okay, well then the upside of the whole deal :

Nice wall.
Yup, blame ALMonty for that! He started it with the porch 'thing'.... and it snowballed from there.
I recall back in the 70's when the old thunderboxes were being replaced with indoor loos, and some bright spark thought of a novel speedway event to entertain while disposing of them. Yeah, they'd stick 'em on wheels and tow them behind stock cars until they were totally demolished... sometimes in figure of 8 races. Fortunately for spectators [and drivers alike], the 'contents' were removed prior to race day.
Happy birthday, RND .....
[I'm late cos I was at the MotoGP] ....
Thanks, Jafo. Would have been there with you, but I have a phobia about being upside down.
When we're born we're issued with magnetic boots....it's a non-issue...
Just for those who are wondering, IF there are any, 55.
Happy belated Jim...
sorry late to the party...
